Important Fitment Note
This rotor is ONLY for base F87 M2, F80 M3, and F82/F83 M4 equipped with blue calipers and iron rotors. M2 Competition uses different rotors. If your car has carbon ceramic brakes, you need the CCB conversion rotors instead.
Two-Piece Floating Design Done Right
Girodisc has been building racing brake systems for decades. This isn't a knockoff two-piece rotor with questionable quality control. The aluminum hat is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-spec material sourced in the USA. The iron rotor rings are poured from Girodisc's proprietary alloy and machined completely in-house. Everything is made in America.
The rotor uses a curved vane design that acts as a centrifugal pump, forcing cooling air through the disc under rotation. This is racing technology, not marketing talk.
Floating Mount System
Ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins connect the hat to the rotor, manufactured by Girodisc to their own specs and cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The pins are secured with class 12.9 cap screws and hardened washers. Anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side allow for thermal expansion without the rattling you get from cheaper floating rotors.
The float lets the rotor self-center between the pads, which means more even wear and better modulation.
Why Not a Big Brake Kit
Direct bolt-on to factory calipers. No modifications needed. Your factory brake bias stays correct, your ABS works as BMW intended it to. You're just upgrading the rotors to something lighter and more capable of handling heat. When the iron rings wear out, you keep the aluminum hats and just replace the rings.
Weight savings over stock reduces unsprung mass. Better pedal feel, more consistent performance on track, no fade.
